Acne New York, NYAcne is one of the most common skin conditions that we see patients for here at our office. If you suffer from acne either once a month (because of your period) or all day everyday, you may have a million questions for Dr. Goldman that you want to have answered. Let’s answer some frequently asked questions about acne to help you feel a little bit more informed.

FAQ: Can I Treat It At Home?

Depending on the type of acne that you have will determine whether or not you can treat it at home. For instance, if you just get a pimple every now and then, you may be able to treat it with an over-the-counter spot treatment like salicylic acid. Whereas if you have cystic acne, you won’t be able to treat it at home.

FAQ: Can You Make My Acne Go Away?

One of the things that our patients ask Dr. Goldman is, “Can you make my acne go away?” The short answer to this question is “yes!” The long answer to this question, though, is that we may have to try different treatments in order to find the one that your acne responds too. And, you have to be diligent about both coming into our office for treatments and doing treatments at home. As long as you and Dr. Goldman work together, though, you should see clearer skin in no time.

FAQ: Is Acne Just for Teenagers?

Wouldn’t that be a dream? Even though many teenagers experience a surge of hormonal acne in their teens, acne is not merely hormonal and it can last far into your adult years. If you are a teenager that is suffering from hormonal acne, however, then it’s better if we get it taken care of now so that you can spend your adult years hopefully with clearer, healthier skin.

During your initial skin consultation with Dr. Goldman, he will take a closer look at your skin to determine what is the best treatment for you. If you want to learn more about treatment options, contact our NYC office today and call us at 212.962.1115.
