Acne Scar Treatment Options

  • Photofacial: A non-invasive and non-abrasive approach to rejuvenation, photofacials use the powerful energy of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to reduce the appearance of mild acne scars. During the procedure, light is emitted in quick, painless bursts onto the skin, dissolving the treated cells and creating a smooth surface. A photofacial typically takes 20 to 45 minutes to perform, depending on the size and location of the treatment area. In most cases, four to six treatment sessions are recommended to achieve the best result.
  • E-Matrix sublative rejuvenation: The E-Matrix system is the latest advance in skin resurfacing. This procedure uses fractionated bipolar radio frequency to smooth and correct skin imperfections, including acne scars. E-Matrix treatments are quickly performed in 10 to 20 minutes and require no downtime.
  • Fractional skin resurfacing: Fractional skin resurfacing uses laser energy to stimulate collagen growth, eliminating acne scars and tightening the skin. This procedure can be performed in 30 minutes, and results are typically long-lasting. When maintained with a proper skin care regimen, results may last up to a year.
  • Microdermabrasion: Microdermabrasion is another minimally invasive method to improve the appearance of acne scars. This treatment uses exfoliation to buff away imperfections, and skin cells are then suctioned away to reveal fresh, smooth skin. Results are immediately visible, though multiple sessions may be required for lasting results.
